QDMA Press Release
Michigan Group Earns National
Recognition for Education/Outreach Event
Bogart, Ga. – The Northeast Michigan Branch of the QDMA has been named winner of the inaugural Quality Deer Management Association Branch Event of the Year Award. The Branch earned the award by staging a Food Plot Field Day that drew a crowd of more than 400.
The Northeast Michigan Branch was honored in Chattanooga, Tenn., during the 2007 QDMA National Convention and Whitetail Expo. Other nominees for the award included Michigan’s Barry County Branch; the Cape Fear River Branch, from North Carolina; the Maryland State Chapter; and South Carolina’s Midlands Branch.
“We decided to initiate this award to recognize QDMA Branches whose members go above and beyond in planning and staging a successful event,” said QDMA Director of Branch Development Gene Newman. “The Northeast Michigan Branch certainly achieved that with its second annual Food Plot Field Day.
“They focused on creating an event that would showcase QDMA’s focus on education while providing a fun atmosphere for everyone who attended. We are proud to honor the members of our Northeast Michigan Branch for their efforts.”
